Introducing Ranked Season 1: climb from Iron to Challenger
Climb from Iron to Challenger, unlock a new world in every league and race for the first leaderboard!

Ranked just got a lot more exciting! ⚔️ Ranked Season 1 is live now and runs until November 1. Duel real players one on one, climb eight leagues from Iron to Challenger, unlock a new world for your bollard in every league you reach, and race for a spot on the very first Challenger leaderboard.

How ranked works
Every ranked match is a 1v1 duel against a real player near your level. You both see the same Street View spot, place your pins, and the closer guess hits the other side's HP. Knock your opponent out and the duel is yours.
Win a duel, get a star. Lose one, lose a star. Five stars take you up a division, and every league now has just two of them, II and I, so the climb is quicker than ever. A new division starts with 1 star and a new league with 3. Drop down and you land on 4 stars, one win away from climbing back.
Extra points: win fast and keep your HP to fill the purple bar. A full bar is a bonus star.
Iron fast track: in Iron, win streaks and quick K.O.s give extra stars, so good players get out quickly.
Your first ranked game: ranked opens after 5 games against Geo, our bot. That's your warm-up!

Eight leagues, eight bollards
Every league has its own bollard, made from the league's material: a cast-iron street bollard for Iron, a bronze bell, a stack of silver coins, a gold bar, a diamond, an amethyst, a ruby, and for Challenger, pure fire. 🔥

Each league also plays a little differently:
Iron and Bronze: you both get a free buff every round, and you play on World Big Cities.
Silver to Diamond: a classic duel. Just you, your opponent and An Arbitrary World.
Master and up: every duel draws its own mode before round one. More on that below!
Master and up: the mode draw
From Master up, there are no buffs and no debuffs. Instead, before round one a line of cards spins and picks how the whole duel is played: Moving, No move or Blink. You might walk the streets, stay frozen to one spot, or get one short look at each place before you guess. Both players get the same mode, so be ready for anything.

A new world for every league 🎁
Here's the best part: every league has its own world. Reach a league and its world is yours to use as the background behind your bollard. It's yours for good, even when a new season starts. Your first ranked game unlocks Iron's foundry street, and every new league adds one more.

The moment you reach a new league, the match screen shows your new world, and one tap puts it on. Your friends will see it in their feed, too.

Challenger and the leaderboard 👑
Challenger is the top of the ladder, and it works differently. There are no divisions and no stars, only points. Everyone starts Challenger on 0. An even duel is worth about +20 for a win and −16 for a loss, so beating a stronger player pays more, and losing to a weaker one costs more.
You stay in Challenger until the season ends. No falling back down.
Challenger players only meet Master, Grandmaster and Challenger players.
Play 5 Challenger games and your name appears on the leaderboard.
No camping at the top: after 3 days without a ranked game, you lose 10 points a day until you play again.
Tap the crown next to the Play button to open the leaderboard. You'll find this season's race there, and from November, last season's final board too.

How Season 1 works
Season 1 is on now and ends on November 1. After that, every season lasts one month. When a season ends, its final leaderboard is saved, and everyone drops back a little for a fresh race:
Iron stays Iron.
Bronze, Silver and Gold drop one league.
Diamond and up drop two leagues.
Don't worry, getting back is quick. Your first 5 games of a new season climb fast: every win gives +2 extra stars. After that, Rank Boost gives +1 extra star per win until you're back in the league you finished in. And the worlds you've unlocked? They stay yours.
Ready? Let's duel!
Ranked is on GeoCoach on the web and on your phone. Open Play, tap your rank, and press Play ranked. Season 1 ends on November 1, so there's still time to be one of the first names on the Challenger leaderboard. Good luck! 🍀
